Hawaii Superferry Selects Intacct’s
SAN JOSE, Calif. — August 28, 2006 — Intacct Corporation, the leader in on-demand financial applications, today announced that Hawaii Superferry has selected Intacct’s Web-based financial management suite. Hawaii Superferry joins a growing number of small and midsize companies that run their business operations on Intacct to take advantage of easy integration, multi-company consolidation and deep financial functionality. More than 8,000 users at 2,000 companies today pay a monthly subscription to access Intacct’s financial, supply chain, business intelligence and project management applications on the Web.
Hawaii Superferry begins a daily passenger and vehicle ferry service next year between Honolulu, Maui and Kauai, with services to the Island of Hawaii coming online in early 2009. Traditionally restricted to airline travel, families can soon travel in the convenience of their cars, bringing baby seats, surfboard racks, luggage and pets. Schools, youth groups, canoe clubs and cowboys can go to events with their vans, equipment, canoes and horse trailers.
One of the main reasons Hawaii Superferry selected Intacct is the ability to easily connect any business software to Intacct’s on-demand financial management suite, including reservation, vessel management, human resources and sales systems. Role-based dashboards will display key metrics on sales and costs to help executives make fast and accurate decisions. Service personnel can enter employee expenses and purchase orders directly into the system through a user-friendly Web interface.
“The same way we bring freedom of choice to the people of Hawaii’s travel plans, Intacct brings freedom of choice to our business-management suite,” said Bob Terek, director of IT at Hawaii Superferry. “There is no on-demand enterprise application available for the mid-market that can accommodate every facet of our growing business. The ability to easily connect and synchronize multiple software into one integrated system is why we decided to build our business with Intacct’s Web-based financial management solution at the core.”
“Intacct is the last financial management solution Hawaii Superferry will ever need,” said Robert J. Jurkowski, CEO and president of Intacct. “As interisland ferry travel takes off, which it undoubtedly will, Hawaii Superferry can add users, business units and applications as it grows. The other on-demand application suites offered today simply don’t address the small and midsize markets’ demand for flexibility and openness.”
