Systems to Help Operators Launch Complex IPTV Services Quickly and Cost Effectively
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. and BANGALORE, India 05-MAR-2007 05:05 AM Oracle and Wipro Technologies, the Global IT Services Division of Wipro Limited (NYSE: WIT), today announced they have teamed to deliver Oracle(r) Communications operations support systems (OSS) to IPTV providers. The relationship will help address the challenges that are common with IPTV deployments, such as costly and lengthy service launches, high order fall-out and poor service visibility.
Wipro will offer Oracle Communications Provisioning, Service Activation, Subscriber & Service Management and Billing & Revenue Management solutions to the IPTV industry.
“We are excited about the prospects of working with Oracle and the value it brings to our customers who are looking to deploy IPTV services,” said Suryanarayana Valluri, Vice President Telecom Service Provider Group, Wipro Technologies. “By combining our in-depth research & development and system integration capabilities in the telecom domain with Oracle’s leadership in IPTV and triple-play service fulfillment and billing, operators can leverage the full benefits of service automation, market-tested best practices and service delivery innovation to enable the low-cost and rapid delivery of these complex services.”
The Oracle Communications OSS/BSS suite’s innovative time-to-market capability enables the rapid and cost-effective delivery of IPTV services throughout the entire service lifecycle - from service incubation to service maturity. Oracle Communications’ service fulfillment products for IPTV solutions empower operators to leverage out-of-box provisioning support and market-tested best practices for next-generation networking (NGN) services. Oracle Communications Service & Subscriber Management allows operators to quickly zero in on an individual customer perspective and promptly sort out the service complexity inherent in IPTV environments. Combining this offering with Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management helps service providers to quickly rollout innovative IPTV pricing and promotions, create targeted and competitive triple-play bundles, and create a customer-centric environment for charging and billing of all triple-play services.
“This collaboration validates Oracle’s OSS leadership in IPTV and underscores our commitment to deliver a market-leading combination of OSS and BSS solutions and integration services for this high-growth market,” said David Sharpley, Vice President of Marketing and Alliances, Oracle Communications. “With Wipro and Oracle working together, operators can accelerate their business success by enabling the rapid roll-out of complex new IPTV services at the lowest possible cost.”
