RightNow CEO Joins Software-as-a-Service Panel at AlwaysOn’s Innovation Summit

Company Founder Greg Gianforte Helps Examine Sea-Change Taking Place Across the Software Industry

Bozeman, MT (July 21, 2006) — RightNow(R) Technologies (NASDAQ: RNOW) today announced that founder and CEO Greg Gianforte will participate in a panel being presented at AlwaysOn’s Innovation Summit, which will be held July 25-26 at Stanford University’s Francis C. Arrillaga Alumni Center. The panel will examine the sea-change taking place in the software industry, as software-as-a-service continues its steady ascent in the marketplace.

The panel will be moderated by Ray Lane, a partner at the venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, and will include Salesforce.com CEO Marc Benioff, Citrix Systems’ Online Division president Brett Caine, NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson, and George Kadifa, who is General Manager of IBM’s On Demand Group. It will take place at 2:20 PM on Wednesday, July 26.

Software-as-a-service is rapidly gaining favor with corporate customers as they seek to reduce their technology ownership costs, accelerate time-to-benefit, and develop more accountable partnerships with their enterprise application vendors. Hosted software implementations also leverage economies-of-scale to provide greater infrastructure redundancy than individual companies can affordably provision themselves, while also giving the vendor greater insight into customers’ business activity—which opens the door for a variety of value-adds that traditional software deployments cannot support.

“The software-as-a-service model is rendering the Old World enterprise software paradigm obsolete,” says Gianforte. “Our panel will give the leaders of this high-momentum marketspace a great opportunity to further clarify the many advantages we offer corporate buyers and to differentiate our particular approaches to on demand solutions delivery from each other.”
