Holmatro Marine Equipment Goes Live with SSA ERPLN
BARNEVELD, June 28, 2006 – SSA Global (NASDAQ: SSAG), a leading global provider of extended enterprise solutions and services, today announced that Holmatro Marine Equipment, a division of the Holmatro group, went live with enterprise application software from SSA Global. The installation of SSA ERPLNÔ was completed in less than three months. The new solution will help ensure product development is appropriately geared to market needs.
During the past three years, Holmatro Marine Equipment has developed into a global player in the field of hydraulic rigging and winch designs for sailing yachts. The expertise required for making these products owes itself to the core competence of the Holmatro group in the field of hydraulic equipment. Globally, fire brigades and rescue workers buy their cutting, lifting and supporting systems from Holmatro.
When Holmatro decided to divide its business divisions into separate legal and financial entities, Holmatro Marine Equipment faced the decision of selecting a suitable software package. After a careful selection process, the division decided to implement
SSA ERPLN, mainly because of the logistics functionality and the easy connection to the engineering environment.
At Holmatro Marine Equipment, the focus is not just on the production processes, but on customer relations as well. Accordingly, the customer relations management aspect will become an integrated part of production management and the logistics module. “We are cutting the market up into pieces and if necessary we want to be able to quickly offer other solutions for the various segments”, says Rinus Reefman, general manager at Holmatro. “The new SSA ERPLN system offers all facilities for seamless integration with the desired functionality for customer management and service management. Web access can also be addressed”. Reefman added: “I want to avoid burdening our internal sales staff with administrative work as much as possible. Dealers must be able to view our inventory directly.”
