We’re looking forward to a long, strategic partnership with Oracle.”

Thompson Enterprises
Thompson Enterprises, the parent company of 25 businesses ranging from lending, retail, process & discrete manufacturing, implemented Oracle Applications to support its complex business structure. Based in the U.S. with strong awareness of its building materials brands such as Omega Products International, Western Manufacturing and Thompson Building Materials, Thompson Enterprises needed a software suite that would support its core business processes and the particular needs of each industry. In addition, the company wanted a solution with proven performance and scalability on the Linux platform. After a thorough product evaluation, Thompson Enterprises determined Oracle was the better, long-term solution based on its lifetime support options and flexibility.

“Oracle addressed the complexities of our business better than SAP,” said Thompson Enterprises Chief Technology Officer Steven Thompson. “Oracle offered a hassle-free deployment on Linux that required no customization. Its real-world testing provided us with documented best practices, including details on a successful Linux-Oracle implementation. SAP just couldn’t match Oracle’s flexibility or their time-to-value proposition on the Linux platform.”
