Health Market Science Extends CRM Success by Using Salesforce.com’s AppExchange to Share Critical Business Data across Departments

Customized applications and downloaded solutions from the AppExchange directory help company develop a single, central source for marketing, sales, product management, operations and finance

SAN FRANCISCO — June 7, 2006 — Salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM), the market and technology leader in on-demand business services, today announced that Health Market Science, Inc. (HMS), a leading manufacturer of healthcare provider data, is using salesforce.com’s AppExchange platform to customize its Salesforce SFA application for its specific business needs. HMS has also installed applications from the AppExchange directory to create a comprehensive, custom solution that enables the company to share critical business data across marketing, sales, product management, operations and finance from a single, central source.

HMS is one of the 22,700 companies of all sizes, industries and geographies that comprised the salesforce.com customer base as of April 30, 2006. Revenue and subscribers will be recognized as the service is delivered.

“Before we started using Salesforce, we kept our sales and customer data in multiple spreadsheets and a simple database. We needed a solution to consolidate and share that information,” said Matt Wallach, chief marketing officer at Health Market Science. “With the AppExchange, we’ve been able to achieve this goal and even go beyond it. In addition to customizing Salesforce to suit its specific business needs, HMS has also deployed two applications from the AppExchange directory to create a comprehensive, custom business solution:

* Event Management — Created by salesforce.com, this application enables HMS’ marketing department to manage and track all of their events — from planning through execution — in a collaborative environment
* RingLead — Created by partner RingLead, this application prevents duplicates by matching and updating existing Contacts and Leads from online contact forms or imported lists

HMS integrated its customized Salesforce solution with its website to ensure data is automatically captured, loaded into Salesforce and distributed to the right sales representative for follow-up, whenever any prospect requests information online. Looking forward, the company plans to mobile-enable its workforce by integrating pocket PCs that allow sales to easily access Salesforce while on the road.
